it is such a mystical morning for so many reasons & when ji jae shared the slide show with me previous evening, i was blown away by his artistry. i think he truly captured all the magic that was shared between us that morning & no explanation is needed. he makes my heart super happy.

this is a snippet of the email i sent him shortly after viewing :

"i took a deep breath as i launched the slideshow. i sat with my gremlins for a few moments before & asked if they would kindly overlook any flaws they might find in me & just remember that morning we shared & look at the whole image, take in the whole show.

they said they couldn't promise anything ... i accepted & acknowledged that this was their job after all & launched the slideshow. as each photo came up, i had to catch my breath. i noticed my hand was over my heart the entire time. the gremlins didn't say one word during or after. they just quietly got up & left without a word. what could they possibly say."

i share this not because i think this is about me, it's about being seen through the eyes of a man & a storyteller. it's about how powerful, brave & strong we truly are when we allow ourselves to be who we are & push those gremlins aside & share our stories. it's about really recognizing that we’re enough, as we truly are, right now, in this very moment.

it's about knowing we can truly be seen & all of us are beautiful, even when we think we aren’t. it's about being stripped down of what we think makes us attractive to others {clothes, our jobs, makeup, spray tans, designer labels, that cute hat i found on etsy etc} & recognizing it's our hearts that truly make us beautiful & our so called "flaws" are what make us unique ... & even adorable to those who love us.

it's about understanding that we all deserve to see how we’re seen through the eyes of people who love us & see those sides of us that we may not ever see because we’re too busy comparing ourselves to others {can we stop that please}.
