no room. there's no room. the hatter has gone to bed while i'm still drinking the tea. i fall through gossamer like clouds as alice in the wonderland did. becoming more & more translucent. a bit of air. a shadow.
a crinkled letter with the words: fly or fall?
written in a sepia colored ink.
a ghost.
"how can you fit inside of a box?" i ask.
"like a bird in a cage, of course."
"is the bird sad?"
"only if the bird has seen the sky."
