let’s stop the madness.
you’re judged if you’re single
you’re judged if you’re married.
you’re judged if you work too much
you’re judged if you don’t work enough.
you’re judged if you gain too much weight
you’re judged if you lose too much weight.
you’re judged if you live in agated community
you’re judged if you’re renting a tiny cottage.
you’re judged if you live like a gypsy
you’re judged if you live in the suburbs.
you’re judged if you sleep with too many men
you’re judged if you don’t sleep with enough men.

you’re judged if you laugh too loud
you’re judged if you’re quiet & reserved.
you’re judged if you wear mismatched skirts & cowgirl boots
you’re judged if you wear a suit & pantyhose.
you’re judged if you live outside the box
you’re judged if you color inside the lines.
it’s a never ending game& nobody wins
because someone, somewhere, is always going to think
something different from you.
the best i can do
is turn off the emotional chaos
that buzzes around me
& do what makes me happy.
the end.
oh so true. i hope the day ahead gives me opportunities to choose to do things my way. so, so true. i’ve been feeling judged this week — by me. these words remind me how deeply crazy that is.

jayy, thank you for the lovely reminder that i should do what makes me happy. simple & wise. i think erna did mention it to me too. thank you for the reminder to shut off the noise inside my head & find that still center that reminds me who i really am, so i can choose to be that person, knowing it’s real & true.

where's the honesty in pretending it wasn't me - it wasn't true.
