admitting to what i don’t love.

sometimes it is about taking a few steps back in order to go forward. sometimes it is about reaching out toa few friends & admitting i need support. sometimes it is about getting over myself in order to do something kind for someone else. sometimes it is about simply saying okay instead of protecting my inflamed ego. sometimes it is admitting i really do care what others think so i can begin to stop caring so much.
sometimes it is about finding some humor in even the most painful situations. sometimes it is about learning to deal when nothing is in order. sometimes it is about going out with my best pals & painting the town red. sometimes it is about embracing my inner bad ass & breaking a few social rules. sometimes it is about hiding out with strawberries & cool whip watching arrested development until the coast is clear.
sometimes it is about marching right out of that cozy safe space & being uncomfortable. sometimes it is as simple as getting an email that makes me smile all day. sometimes it is fussing up to the fact that even though i thought i had my shit together i really don’t know that much. sometimes it is accepting that while i’m strong & kick ass in some areas i’m fragile & tender in others.
sometimes it is disregarding all those who say i can’t do it & do it anyway. sometimes it is about what feels right in the moment but always, always it is about knowing that life & love is not black & white. there are many hues in between & the right thing is subject to change & no matter what, no matter who, no matter where, no matter how – i’ll always be the most perfect version of me.
