i’m still playing nice.

it’s been really ‘foggy’ here, in my bedroom lately. for days & for many. oh. how i heart my air conditioner. the misty grey foggy mornings it has made are inspiration & in the past they’ve been for me too.

but today in my bitterness, i wanted to scream to the skies, “YES” the mornings have been amazing IF writing a mystery novel that needed a description of the valley “layered with fog, stacked like old crumbling bricks” where they found the family that careened off the highway years ago & had mysteriously disappeared in the ghostlike ravine that made the town folk bow their heads when asked about it.

but i’m not writing a novel or anything else where i need to talk about the now almost taupey coloured in places. because the sun is starting to breathe. gauze like fabric that has wrapped itself around maaa’s house & tied a perfectly shaped bow on the front door or how the cheesecloth blanket of white that greeted my eyes at dawn was slowly dancing in the wind outside my room as gently as the veil on a bride who speaks softly while a tear runs down her cheek & she whispers, “i do”.

nope. that damn beautiful misty fog left me empty handed today without a bit of inspiration.

so instead i’ll go outside, getting out my bubbles & hula hoop just to entertain my soul. coats disappear. boots tossed to the back of the closet. smiles grow & everyone has a skip in their step. or ... or i might just sing out loud to my favourite songs at the top of my lungs & breathe life in. toss!
